Green School

​

Green-Schools is Ireland’s leading environmental management and award programme, working with primary and secondary schools across the country. Promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community. The programme is operated and co-ordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce.

The Active School Flag

​

The Active School Flag (ASF) is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. ASF forms part of the National Physical Activity Plan and the Healthy Ireland vision where everyone can enjoy physical and mental and well-being to their full potential, and where well-being is valued and supported at every level of society and is everyone’s responsibility.

The Discover Primary Science and Maths Programme

​

The Discover Primary Science and Maths Programme (DPSM) is part of Science Foundation Ireland’s Education and Public Engagement Programme, which aims to increase interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among students, teachers and members of the public. It introduces primary school students to science in a practical, hands-on, enjoyable and interactive way.

Cycle Safety Programme

​

Scoil Mhuire participates in the Cycle Safety Programme for primary schools. Training takes place in the school yard of the school for 6th class students. The course is approximately one hour for 6 weeks. All necessary equipment is provided. It is an All- inclusive Programme. (adapted to suit all abilities). All children will receive a Certificate of Participation on completion.

Junior Entrepreneur Programme 

​

This innovative programme opens the minds of children’s to the joy of entrepreneurship. The programme helps pupils to develop skills in literacy, writing, presentation, drawing, technology, research skills, numeracy, financial, consumer awareness, storytelling, listening skills, creative thinking, problem solving, team building and collaboration skills.

The programme builds confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem, and an appreciation of individual skills and talents among the participating pupils.

Music Generation Programme

Music Generation is a national partnership programme whose mission is to create inspiring experiences for children and young people through Music.

Junior Achievemnet Ireland 

​

Junior Achievement Ireland encourages young people to remain in education and teaches them the skills they need to succeed in a changing world.

FIRST® LEGO® League  

​

FIRST® LEGO® League guides students through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore, and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way

Aistear  

​

Our infant classes take part in Aistear each morning where the students take their first steps in getting to understand the world and how things work. They also begin to develop as individuals, practising their physical skills and taking interest in new topics.
